Children's Home

The Children’s Home is the longest standing program at Stansberry’s.  In the country of Bolivia children who require care are placed in group homes, many of which are overcrowded and understaffed.  The children come from situations of abuse, neglect, orphaned or abandonment often exacerbated by poverty.  At Stansberry’s we strive to care for these children in a family environment where their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are considered.

There are three houses on our property we call “casitas” or little houses.  Each house has a house parent or parents who serve as primary care givers to the children in their casita.  There are between seven to ten children in each casita who range in age from infancy to eighteen.

When sibling groups enter the Bolivian care system, out of necessity they are often separated and sent to boys homes, girls homes, or homes for infants.   At Stansberry’s it’s part of our mission to keep these small families together and we often receive sibling groups of three or more and work to have siblings of our kids transferred to our Home when possible.
